Pet owners who do not clean up after their pets in public places

Under the Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) Regulations, an offender is liable to be fined up to $1,000 for the first offence.

AVA implements two new pet shop licensing conditions

With effect from 1 January 2014, AVA will be adding two new licensing conditions for pet retailers selling cats, dogs and rabbits. The two new licensing conditions are:

1) No sale of pets to individuals under 16 years old

2) Mandatory pre-sale screening for each transaction
