Intestate Succession Act (Chapter 146)

As most people do not write a WILL, majority of the net-estates in Singapore will be settled through Intestate Succession Act (Chapter 146). There are 10 sections in this statute, and the most important of all is Section 7 of the Act which spells the statutory entitlement of various classes of beneficiary if one dies without a WILL in Singapore.

A: Member’s CPF savings will be transferred to the Public Trustee for distribution in accordance with the Intestacy Succession Act (Cap 146). His CPF savings will be distributed to his family in the following manner as shown here. Please visit http://www.ipto.gov.sg for more details.

For a Muslim member, CPF savings will be distributed in accordance with the Inheritance Certificate.
