“Drum end soon” message appears on Brother MFC7340

To reset the drum counter back to zero and allow you to continue using your drum unit.

It will not fix any print quality issues but simply allow you to keep printing beyond the set life of the drum unit.

Make sure that the machine is turned on. Open the front cover. Press Clear/Back on the control panel. Press 1 to reset the drum counter.

I just wanted to say thank you if you clean the drum filament with a warm damp paper towel while slowly moving the gear that spins it removes a lot of leftover ink and sharpens the image again . problem was it was still complaining the drum was bad but thanks to you this reset returned my printer to near new quality without cost.

I was able to reset the drum end soon message on the printer LCD, but the Mac printer driver software that shows up in the Dock during a print (allowing you to cancel or pause a job) still shows a Drum Ends Soon message. Can’t find any way to remove the message from the driver software. I rebooted the iMac, looked at the options in the printer software utility, but nada.
